Lower School (“Purple Door”)

Lower School is our dedicated classroom and playground for our youngest students ages 2 and 3. Children explore and discover their best ways of learning to develop their confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills while addressing all the important areas of learning.

A Day In the Life

Families and students in the Purple Door class can expect a warm, engaging environment where play-based learning is at the heart of each day. Children are encouraged to explore a variety of thoughtfully curated indoor and outdoor activities that promote creativity, social-emotional growth, and early problem-solving skills. From imaginative play in the dress-up area to building elaborate structures with blocks or creating art with open-ended materials, students have the freedom to follow their interests while developing essential skills. Teachers support learning through gentle guidance, helping children build friendships, express themselves, and navigate group dynamics with confidence.

A typical day in Purple Door includes a mix of structured and free-play time, with highlights like morning circle, story time, and outdoor play. Children might engage in science explorations like learning about the butterfly life cycle or experimenting with water and sand, while also participating in dress-up, pretend play, and cooperative games. Snack time offers a chance to practice independence and connect with peers, while parent participation days allow families to get involved in the classroom experience. Overall, Purple Door offers a joyful, nurturing space where curiosity is celebrated and each child is seen and valued.

  • Min Adult / Student Ratio: 1 adult per 3 students

  • Schedule Options (morning only, 8:30 am - 11:30 am): Lower school offers flexible options to match family finances and schedules

    • 2-Day Program (Tuesday & Thursday)

    • 3-Day Program (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

    • 5-Day Program (Monday - Friday)

  • Requirements: children do not need to be potty-trained
